'if'.... (film)
Iconic 60's film introduced by John Howlett
Lindsay Anderson's film If. . . . has raised much debate politically, stylistically and structurally. Based on a script by David Sherwin and John Howlett, the film uses the British public-school system as a microcosm of society to demonstrate the repression of the individual by authority. This iconic '60s film addresses many issues which are still relevant today. We are delighted that Rye resident John Howlett, will give an introduction to the film and lead a discussion following the viewing of the film.
