Winchelsea Cellars Tour
This is the first of seven similar tours over the two weeks of the Festival. The tours are led by expert local guides, who show visitors around some of Winchelsea’s original 13th Century barrel-vaulted cellars, which are normally closed to the public.
The tour will include descriptions of the history of Winchelsea, once a leading member of the Cinque Ports Federation.
Some of the cellars are difficult to access and visitors are encouraged to bring a torch and wear sensible shoes.
Early booking is essential as numbers are limited to 24 people per tour.
