AN OPERA IN TWO ACTS by Gaetano Donizetti
A fizzing sherbet to counteract The Turn of the Screw, (17th September at the Milligan Theatre), Euphonia’s production of Donizetti’s effervescent comedy delighted capacity audiences in London last November. This exclusive revival in Rye was funnier than ever!
After disinheriting his nephew Ernesto, wealthy old Don Pasquale seeks a wife to produce an heir to his estate. Dr. Malatesta sympathises with Ernesto and devises a crackpot plan to help him regain his inheritance and his true love, Norina.
Alisdair Kitchen directed a cast of acclaimed young singers, drawn from the National Opera Studio, Benjamin Britten International Opera School and the Royal College of Music.
